Tuition Fees


Sibling Discount: There is a sibling discount of 10% on tuition fees for the third (youngest) and subsequent child in each family, paying full fees, for the 2019/20 academic year, attending any Taaleem school in Dubai.


A non-refundable, non-transferable Application Fee of AED 525 is required to process all applications. It includes 5% VAT added as per government regulations.
Upon offer of a place, a deposit of AED 7,000 is required to secure the place. This is credited against the first term fees. The deadline for Term 1 fee payment is 1st August.
A re-registration fee of AED 3,500 is required for current students who are re-enrolling into the following academic year. This amount is credited against Term 1 fees of the following academic year.
The tariff for the following KHDA services, as stipulated by KHDA, is below:

  • Registering a student with the KHDA - AED120
  • Request for student Education Continuation Certificate for visa renewal - AED 120
  • Request for a student leaving form for the students who are leaving Dubai - AED 120
  • Request for student transfer between private schools (within the stipulated time frame) - AED 120
  • Request for student transfer between private schools (after the stipulated time frame) - AED 520
  • Request for attestation of student certificate or report card - 120 AED
  • Issuance of 'To whomsoever, it may concern' certificate for matters related to School (Attestation) - AED 120
  • Issuance of 'To whomsoever, it may concern' certificate for matters related to Students (Academic History) - AED 120
  • Request to change student data at the Authority - student exam grade amendment - AED 120

In case any of the above services are required, please make payment of the respective amount with our school accounts office before collecting the document listed above.
Our traditional yet modern uniforms have been designed with the local climate in mind. It is compulsory for our students in FS1 to Year 11 to wear a uniform. Sixth Form students are required to wear business attire.

Uniform can be purchased at the ZAKS store in Al Barsha. Opening hours are Saturday to Thursday from 10 am to 7.30pm, T +971 (04) 379 2575. All uniforms items should be clearly labelled with your child's name.

Students will be allowed to use the bus service only if their term fee has been cleared before the start of the term.

We are an inclusive school and welcome all students, including students of determination. We provide high quality education for all children, including gifted children and those requiring learning support.

Personalised learning programmes are developed for students with specific needs on a case-by-case basis, and these programmes include access to appropriate resources and support, and curricular options. There may be additional costs for these, depending on the support plan required.
DBS charges additional fees for external examinations, in line with other private and international schools.
For the Academic Year 2019/20, the first term fees are due on or before 1st August 2019. Fees for the second and third term will be due one month prior to the term start date.

Once a place is offered, a non-refundable Registration fee (deposit) of AED 7,000 is required to reserve the place until the full term tuition payment is made. This Registration fee is deductible against first-term tuition fees.

Term 2 fees should be paid by 5th December 2019, and Term 3 by 5th March 2020.
Payments can be made by cash, credit card, bank transfer or cheque and tuition fees can also be paid online.

A company cheque is preferred. In case payment is made by a personal cheque, the school requires payment at least 3 (three) working days prior to the due date of the invoice. All cheques must be made payable to "Dubai British School". A charge of AED 500 will be made for any returned or dishonoured cheque. Post-dated cheques are to be lodged for Term 2 at any time in advance of the due date.

Transfers must be in AED currency (UAE Dirhams). All charges are the responsibility of the remitter. When a bank transfer is made, please ensure that all relevant information is added to the transfer form including student name and year group, and confirm transfer by email to

Online Payments
Tuition fees can now also be paid online. A link to the online payment service is included in the tuition fee invoices.
Notice of student withdrawal and application for a tuition refund at the request of the parent/guardian must be made in writing to the School Principal. KHDA regulations govern the school tuition refund policies outlined below:

I. Student withdrawal prior to the start of the academic year
  • If the student has NOT attended ANY classes, the balance of the first-semester fee paid is refunded minus any registration fee made for placing the student on the school's official class list. This refund is subject to approval by the Principal and in compliance with the KHDA rules.
II. Student withdrawal during the school term
  • Fees will be charged for one full month if a student attends school for two weeks or less.
  • Fees will be charged for two full months if a student attends school for more than two weeks and less than one month.
  • Fees will be charged for the three full months if a student attends school for more than one month.

All documentation plus a one-time non-refundable non-transferable Application fee of AED 525, is required for all applications, including 5% VAT added as per government regulations, must be submitted prior to the student joining the school.

Dubai British School can only accept applications with all required paperwork. 

Incoming students whose documents are incomplete cannot be registered with Dubai’s KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority) and could result in fines. Dubai British School will not be responsible for any fines imposed by the KHDA.


A completed Application Form does not oblige the school to accept your child. However, once you have been notified of your child’s placement decision and the registration and relevant term fees have been paid, a contract is deemed to exist between the school and the parents/guardians, provided that the school regulations are observed. The school reserves the right to place your child in a class deemed to be the most appropriate, within the bounds of the KHDA guidelines.


In the cases of both existing and new students, deposits and fees will not be refunded if students choose not to return to school for the next academic year or choose not to take the offered places. However, a school may choose to refund the deposit under special circumstances.

In the case of refund and recovery, the school fees will be calculated as follows as per the KHDA regulations:
  • If the student attends school for two weeks or less in the first month of a term, a month’s school fees will be charged.
  • If the student attends school for more than two weeks and less than one month, two months’ school fees will be charged.
  • If the student attends for more than a month, three months’ school fees will be charged.
The value of the fee per month is calculated by dividing the total tuition fees by ten.

New Students’ Registration Fee: a school may charge up to 30% of the school’s tuition fees as an admission fee to confirm that selected students will opt to take up the offered places. This fee should be deducted from the total tuition fees for the academic year in which the admission is being sought.


Students’ Re-Registration Fee: a school may charge up to 10% of the school’s tuition fees as a re-registration deposit to confirm the return of existing students in the new academic year. This deposit will be deducted from the total tuition fees for the academic year in which the re-admission is being sought. The school will advise of the amount and the due date. Re-registration for continuing students will not be accepted unless all outstanding fees due have been paid in full.

Kindly note that those wishing to transfer to other Taaleem schools will also be required to fill the re-registration form and submit a copy to both schools with the non-refundable deposit paid at the new school.

Acceptance of Offer: to confirm acceptance of a place for your child, you are required to pay the balance of the first term fees at least one month before the beginning of the school term.

Term One Fee: a student may not start the academic year unless the first term fee has been paid in full. We cannot accept personal cheques for Term 1 fees if given five working days prior to the start of the new academic year.

School Reports: according to KHDA regulations, the school reserves the right to withhold any reports until fees have been paid in full.

Final Results: according to the KHDA regulations, the school reserves the right to withhold the final results and abstain from issuing transfer certificates until settlement of all school fees is made.
